An early 18th Century Oyster Laburnum bureau bookcase cabinet dating from c 1730. The top with stepped and curved cornice above a pair of mirrored doors with Laburnum oyster veneer surround containing three shelves. The base with Laburnum oyster veneered and cross banded fall front containing a fully fitted galleried interior with drawers, central cupboard and secret compartments above four long oyster veneered and cross banded drawers with brass escutcheons and handles, the whole supported on turned bun feet. The sides of solid Oak. Excellent condition with various minor marks consistent with age and use. The mirrors have been replaced at some stage, the existing ones displaying some minor tarnishing.
