A George III Sheraton period Mahogany linen press with original oil painted decorative detailing dating from c 1790. The moulded cornice with decorative painted frieze above a pair of doors with panels painted with floral designs, Paterea and urns and centred with a brass astragal moulding containing four Oak lined linen slides. The base with two short and two long Oak lined drawers with similar decoration and original brass handles. The sides with Satinwood stringing, the whole on shaped skirt and swept bracket feet. Original lock and working key to cupboard, original locks to drawers, original blue paper lining to drawers and slides. fine colour and good condition. Small cracks down the middle of paneled doors, these are stable, have been filled and pigmented to blend in (see photos). Various minor marks consistent with age and use. 2,750
