An unusual and small Charles II period Chest of drawers dating from c 1670. The planked top with moulded edge above three long graduating side hung drawers of figured Yew wood with fruitwood banding and brass drop handles. The sides of paneled Oak, the Oak turned legs with bobble stretchers. The Oak legs appear to be original and an extension of the side styles that extend down the side of the carcass. The base blocks which attach to the base bobble stretchers are of identical grain, colour, patina and size to the carcass supports. Really good colour and patina, good condition with various minor marks, scratches etc consistent with age and use. 1590
