A Queen Anne period Walnut chest of drawers dating from c 1700. The Oak planked top above a shaped top moulding above two short and three long varigated feather banded drawers with split moulded surround and brass handles and escutcheons, the whole standing on original shaped bracket feet. Fine colour, excellent condition with various minor marks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. As was common in the period this chest is made in two parts, splitting beneath the second drawer down. The handles are 18th Century replacements probably fitted around 1770 to update the fashion of the piece. The escutcheons on the long drawers are original. 1650
