A fine 17th Century William and Mary period Walnut chest on stand dating from c 1690. The top with moulded cornice above three short and three long graduated cross banded drawers with brass handles and escutcheons and with half round split moulded drawer edges. The associated base with thick waist moulding above three drawers with brass handles and escutcheons and with half round split moulded edge above an arcaded frieze, the whole supported on six turned, inverted cup legs united by wavey base stretcher. Beautifully proportioned, of outstanding original colour and patina, locks present but no keys, good condition with various minor marks, bumps, knocks etc consistent with age and use. 2950
