Large French provincial mid 19th Century Walnut and Oak extending dining table dating from c 1850. The rectangular top with carved edge above a floral carved frieze. The base with four turned legs, central turned spindles and uniting carved stretchers. A total of six additional temporary stained pine leaves to extend the table to a maximum 12 and a half feet. As was common, provincial tables of this type were designed to extend to accommodate extended family Sunday lunches where a table cloth would be placed over the centre of the table over the temporary pine leaves. The table is in good condition but has various minor marks, scratches, bumps etc consistent with age and use.
