A James I/ Charles I, four panelled Oak coffer dating from c 1620. Probably West country in origin, the coffer has a two planked rectangular top with moulded edge and with original split pin ring hinges above a frieze panel with scrolled carving typical of the period and original lock plate. Below, four floral carved panels, the design of which suggests West country manufacture, possibly Dorset, the whole standing on stile feet. Excellent colour, original condition with various minor marks, bumps etc consistent with age and use. 1250
